Coffee!
A word that needs to be spoken with reverence (all you coffee lovers out there, you should know what I mean).
The perfect cup of coffee in the morning is so many things – it deliciously kick-starts the day, it provides ample room for contemplation, it just lets you be yourself for those few moments.

Every coffee drinker has a ‘Coffee Corner’ or a ‘Coffee Ambience’.ย A perfect corner in the house, where you are most comfortable; maybe sitting by the window and watching the trees or the road. Maybe sitting in your garden with nature’s magic exploding around you, and the fresh air of the morning invigorating you.
Maybe you share your ‘Coffee Ambience’ with your spouse, maybe you prepare breakfast and take delicious sips of your coffee in-between.
My Coffee Corner is by the balcony, on my easy chair, looking at the traffic and morning joggers, the orioles and the mynas, the green trees and my book shelf.
All is right with the world.
What’s your Coffee Corner or Coffee Ambience? Would love to know!
My coffee corner is at the counter in my apartment. I sit there with my computer and coffee and catch up on blogs and emails almost every day.

Sadly I don’t drink coffee. I do choke down some cereal and a glass of milk every morning before rushing into the bathroom to brush my teeth before my children get there.

Well, I have drank coffee before, just not often enough to get over shaking and having an upset stomach after two cups!

I’m not a coffee drinker other than occasionally or using it as a drug when I’m traveling. My Mom used to always sit at her kitchen table though, with a window there. I still have the table and the chairs. So when I get a home again (I’m still on the road), I will refinish them and set up my own contemplative place ๐

My coffee corner, sat at the computer making a start on my mail.If I’m really lucky, there isn’t too much mail and I can finish my drink eased back in the chair and relaxed until 6.15 am when the new deluge of the day starts. I know I might be talking heresy here but I only have the one cup a day now (unless I’m out on a Saturday) and I savour every moment.

Oh Nimi – you just described my feelings towards my morning coffee so perfectly – “deliciously kick-starts the day” and provides time for quiet contemplation before the demands of the day begin. A good cup of coffee is a thing of beauty ๐
I don’t have a coffee corner per se. After 3 decades of gulping my coffee as I rushed to get ready for work, now I simply enjoy it leisurely at the kitchen table looking out the window into the backyard, watching the squirrels and birds rushing around ๐

Morning coffee is the first defense for the day. And those who know me know that’s a good thing as it’s very important not to poke the bear before she has her coffee ๐ May your coffee provide a warm hug and a well deserved pause before the hustle and bustle of the day takes over. แฆ

My coffee corner is sitting on the floor in front of the TV, listening to melodious Ilayaraja songs while enjoying the bliss of mom’s perfectly brewed coffee in the afternoon. Top it off with a dark rainy day and I would not budge from my corner for hours

Alas I can’t bear coffee! But tea, well that’s a different story… ๐

Aha..the reverse for me. I’d rather not have tea if no coffee is available.
But the sentiments about the ‘corners’ are the same I guess ๐
